I look at the body very similarly as an acupuncturist. The energy body and its respective systems such as the meridians, acupuncture points and energy centers. I also deeply incorporate and understand the consciousness of the organs, endocrines and body parts and how they are activated and hold specific types of energy.
My work differs in the way that I don’t just stop there. I find the imbalance within the body and then go deeper. Instead of being content with finding a Qi imbalance within the kidneys, I inquire and find the root cause of what is making it go out of harmony. My main goal in my practice is to create true healing in the body and finding out the *why* beneath the symptoms creates a place in the body where things don’t reoccur. Complete and long lasting healing is always my intention.

I learned from a very young age that there was more to illness than what western medicine accounted for. That we are more complex than just a set of standard symptoms to fit into a category.
Energy medicine isn’t new.. Contrary to popular belief.. It is the most ancient medicine curated over hundreds (thousands) of wisdom. TCM (traditional chinese medicine) has known and utilized the knowledge of the energy body, emotional body and the consciousness that ties it all together.
It looks at the physical symptoms and asks the most important question: “why?”
The answer to that question that is often overlooked in modern medicine is the key to potent and swift healing. That answer is as unique as you and your life experience. The answer can be stored and unprocessed emotions from childhood such as resentment, fear or grief that are impacting the communication in the body.

A woman (name hidden for privacy) came into my office from a referral and sat down. She proceeded to tell me that in the last 5 years, she suddenly started experiencing severe and chronic digestive issues that were completely debilitating. Her story was probably one of the most severe I encountered at this time of my practice with even a few times of complete loss of her bowels. She was previously extremely healthy and was an active bicyclist. She did everything under the sun in the western world of medicine and as a previous nurse, she was at a loss. The only option left was exploratory surgery with no real plan. So she ended up in my office.
Upon first glance, nothing was apparent or out of balance in her life. She was happy! Her children were thriving and she was enjoying her marriage, retirement and was incredibly content. Her intake puzzled me. Honestly, I was at a loss myself and very curious what her body would communicate.
As we got into the session, I took a moment to really tune into her body and listen. The body led me to her gallbladder so I asked… “tell me about your gallbladder.”
She said, “I don’t have one..”
Suddenly it all made sense for me. Here’s a peek into my mind + my work. In Chinese medicine, the gallbladder and liver are best friends. They hold the consciousness of organization (the energy and emotions of the body), decision making and planning. They work closely and in tandem and are fundamental organs for the digestive system. Also in this lens, scar tissue goes beyond the physical and creates blocks in the energy body and meridians. Losing an organ is a big deal! The liver lost a vital part of its system with the removal of the gallbladder and wasn’t able to process the immense joy she was experiencing in her day to day life.
We completed the session by initiating the body to repair the connection, relearn how to operate without the physical gallbladder, strengthen the ability of the gallbladder meridian and adjusted all this work with her digestive system. I told her to come back in 2 weeks and see how she was feeling.
I had no idea what to expect when she came back a few weeks later. Her case was so curious to me and I found myself pondering it each day as I waited for her to follow up. I can tell you that even I wasn’t expecting her to sit down in my office and proudly exclaim:
“Well you healed me! I am completely fine again!”
After 5 years of daily pain and a condition with no answer that kept her in her home everyday and stole her ability to enjoy her life. 1 session can change everything when you are looking in the right place.
My work is centered around the fact the body is wired to feel good and has an innate ability to heal itself when it has enough space to do so. On a biological level, we see this daily. But when we are compromised, healing slows and dysfunction starts. I look at the body in a different way that allows the whole story to come to the surface.
